Service Overview

When a client has on-going, multiple sourcing projects, setting up a dedicated sourcing team in China may be a consideration. However, the effort required to hire, train and manage a team of local employees can be intimidating, especially for those businesses which are new to China. For companies that want greater control over the process, but prefer to avoid the headaches associated with “going it alone” in China we offer the China Presence Package.

Existing PassageMaker floor space, staff, office equipment and infrastructure are dedicated solely to the client’s project. In this fashion, the client can leverage the existing PassageMaker business umbrella to house the dedicated project managers. Sourcing Strategy, Project Management, Government Relations, Legal, Logistics, HR, VAT Tax and Accounting are handled by PassageMaker’s senior staff to ensure professionalism, accountability, transparency and security. Compensation to PassageMaker depends on the scope of the project, but generally takes the form of a fixed monthly retainer.

The China Presence Package can be adjusted for the unique requirements of the client. These customizations may include the following:

a) Incorporating existing client staff (western or local staff) into our operations.

b) Providing a western manager in China to interface between Western clients and local staff, yet allowing the client to deal directly with dedicated local project staff as much as desired.

c) Developing a road map for the outsourced office to be turning into a fully client-owned sourcing office at an agreed time in the future. This allows for an efficient transfer of staff and expertise.

d) PassageMaker’s assembly / inspection center and warehouse may be utilized at discounted rate to support client.

Compensation in normally in the form of a monthly retainer and/or percentage of Purchase Order value.
